The Story So Far…

Creativity has always been at the heart of everything I do. Art, Music and drama have been the centre of my world since I was a young lad.

When I left high school in 2010, the plan was to become a fine artist. A year later, following the completion of my diploma in art and design, I began a degree in graphic design. Whilst I enjoyed my degree, I found myself spending as much time as I could in the workshop, twisting my graphics into physically built objects in any way I could.

Realising that building physical objects was the path for me, I completed a carpentry and joinery course and began teaching woodwork in a High School for over 5 years. It was here that I further developed my skills and passion for furniture building.

When I moved on from the school, I began working in a family-run business specialising in restaurant and cafe fittings where I stayed for 4 years. I’ve been lucky enough to work with a variety of materials on numerous restaurants, cafes and bars across London and the south west.

Seeking a new challenge, I set up David Sandford Carpentry & Joinery in 2022.

My background in graphics has given me a keen eye for design, and allows me to quickly generate a bespoke concept drawing based on your ideas and needs. I have many years of experience in building bespoke joinery for a wide variety of spaces and settings.

I’m excited to continue on my bespoke furniture building journey, and hope you’ll join me. I see every job as a unique collaboration where we work together to produce the exact piece you want.

I look forward to hearing from you!
